Sun Protection 101: The Best Sunscreen

At this point in my life, I've come to accept that my skin for what it is: practially translucent.

Every summer I watch friends around me get tanner and tanner, as I get even more pale, if that's possible, or the shade of a cooked lobster. Since my skin is so extraoridinarily pale, it's really important for me to protect it since lighter skin is more susceptible to damage from UV rays, which causes skin cancer.

This past weekend I asked my cousin, a dermatologist, if I could borrow some sunscreen, and this is what she pulled out of her bag (that's how you know it's legit). I've tried this cream before, and it's by far my favorite sunscreen for the face. You used to only be able to buy it online from Europe, but now it's widely available at drug stores in the States. This is not your typical sun protection - it has a very different consistency - think skim milk, it's very liquidy. I love it because it absorbs fast, isn't too greasy, and protects like no other. This cream has won multiple awards, and i can see why.

I'm giving it the solifestyle award for best sunscreen. It's a little on the expensive side, but totally worth it. Find out more about the Anthelios sunscreen line by La Roche-Posay here.

Not only will you be protecting your skin from UV radiation and preventing skin cancer, but you'll also be making sure you don't look like a croc skin purse at the age of 40. So worth it.
