Leo Villareal's Buckyball Shines in Madison Square Park

Now there's more to experience in Madison Square Park besides Shake Shack. Simple yet stunning, Leo Villareal's

Buckyball

really lights up the place. On display until February 1st, this awesome glowing orb boasts individual pixels every 1.2 inches, each capable of displaying 16 million distinct colors. The colors and patterns in the orb are constantly changing; our friend acurately described the display as a real-life iTunes visualizer. What's more, the sculpture is surrounded by reclining benches, so you can just sit back, relax, and check out the light show.

If you're looking for a way to find some inner peace this hectic holiday season, tonight the park is putting on an event called

Solstice

, which will feature DJ Horus projecting a unique soundscape while participants are led in

Shriyoga

, a form of meditative yoga around the Buckyball. Chill, listen to some sweet tunes, and become one with yourself. The event starts at 6 PM, and continues until around 9:30.
