If you'd love to take a trip around the world but your finances are getting in the way, Philadelphia's Material Culture is like a staycation to the 7 continents, all under one roof. Housed just right outside Center City, this store is a treasure trove of amazing pieces of everything from sculpture to lighting from all over the globe.
Inside Material Culture, you can turn one corner and you'll be confronted by a painted dinosaur from god knows where, juxtaposed against Thai Buddhas and Indian jewelry. You never know what you'll find here, and their inventory is constantly changing. If you go, be prepared to spend a little time wandering around- this store is massive and packed to the brim with unique things so finding that perfect piece takes time. They also have coffee and tea on hand so you can rehydrate and stay focused on your treasure hunt. Check out some photos from inside the store below.
