New York Comic Con 2012 Preview

A few years ago, I made myself a Halloween costume.  It took months and wasn't really that detailed but I felt like a champ when I wore it out in the Halloween Parade.  Despite my efforts, my skills are nothing when compared to the awesome DIY costumes that appear at Comic Con.  The annual NYC edition of the convention starts this Thursday and is one of SOLIFESTYLE's most anticipated events of 2012 because it blends DIY, fashion and various comic and anime subcultures to create one of the most exciting spectacles in the city.

In addition to staple events at New York Comic Con like costume contests, panels from prominent artists, and stuff to buy, there will be some really special happenings like a sing along (with props) of R. Kelly's Trapped in the Closet, a special beer called Brooklyn Defender by the Brooklyn Brewery and a charity auction to benefit the St. Jude research hospital.

We'll be there several days this week and look forward to bringing you our Comic Con street style (much better than NYFW) and coverage of various events. Stick with us!
