Since stores like Union, Recon and Head Porter closed their Soho store fronts years ago there has been a serious lack of Japanese street wear in the NYC area. Though other neighborhood stores picked up some of the slack, until earlier this year there were no boutiques with an emphasis on emerging Japanese fashion brands until Entrepreneur opened its doors on Kenmare Street this past spring.
Entrepreneur specializes in up and coming Japanese labels but also stocks several cutting edge US brands who are climbing the ladder of success (hence the store's name). The selection of goods in the store ranges from timeless pieces like hand woven jeans to shirts with on trend patterns like color camouflage and native prints. The retailer is a one stop shop for men and women looking to update their wardrobe with a laundry list of what's fashionable at prices that won't destroy morale.
The staff inside Entrepreneur are all friendly, knowledgable and excited to talk about the items in stock. The vibe is relaxed and low key- a pleasant contrast to some of the other boutiques in the area. But I can't say enough that what makes Entrepreneur such a good store is the quality and variety of the stock. Right now the F/W season is arriving so make sure to pop in to prep for fall.
