RETNA Mural Replaces FAILE at Bowery and Houston

About a week and a half ago, artist RETNA replaced the work done by New York's own FAILE at the huge mural space at Bowery and Houston Streets in downtown NYC.  The new mural looks part religious, part alien language, and a lot like the artist, named Marquis Lewis, should have used some less runny paint (though I know it is his signature style).  To be honest, I don't think very highly of the mural which looks significantly less creative than its predecessors but it is still nice to have a new piece of art occupying such a large space in one of my favorite neighborhoods to hang out.

Are you a fan of the mural or the artist RETNA?  Let us know in the comments.
